Women Build Tampa is a Habitat for Humanity initiative that focuses on the issues that women and women with children face in regards to gaining access to affordable housing. Each year women from all backgrounds come together to help a single mother in Hillsborough County realize her dream of homeownership. Around the world, and in our own community, women are more likely to live in substandard and poverty conditions. This is especially true of women who have children. Women Build empowers women volunteers to participate in an exciting experience, constructing a home for a local single mother.

What is Women Build Tampa?
Women Build is a powerful, female-led initiative rallying local women to make a life-changing impact—raising vital funds to build a safe, stable Habitat home for a single mother and her family. Every dollar raised helps bring them closer to homeownership, and participants who meet their fundraising goal also earn the unforgettable experience of working alongside our Tampa Habitat team to help build the home they made possible!
Beyond building a home, Women Build raises awareness of the critical need for affordable housing and how it creates strength, stability, and self-reliance for families through shelter. Together, we can make the dream of homeownership a reality!

Women Build brings together women from across our community who share a common goal: making a meaningful impact for local families. If you’ve been looking for a way to give back but aren’t sure where to start, Women Build is the perfect place to begin.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Habitat for Humanity of Tampa Bay Hillsborough’s Women Build. Over the past decade, hundreds of women have come together to raise funds, build homes, and create lasting change. Whether you’re fundraising for the first time or you’re a seasoned participant, our Habitat team will support you every step of the way.
You don’t have to do it alone. By joining a fundraising team or making a donation, you’re helping provide safe, affordable housing for hardworking local families who need a hand up—not a handout.
Last year, more than 150 fundraisers and 375 donors raised over $165,000, helping cover a significant portion of the construction costs for a Habitat home. Every dollar raised and every hour volunteered helps build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Join us as we celebrate 10 years of Women Build and work together to make 2026 our most impactful year yet.
How do I get involved?
Ready to be part of something special? Join us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Women Build and continue a decade of women coming together to make a lasting impact for local families.
Start by registering using the button at the top of this page, then join us at our Women Build Kickoff event in April. This is your chance to learn more about this year’s build, meet fellow participants, and officially launch your fundraising journey.
Each participant sets a fundraising goal of $600, and you can choose to fundraise on your own or form a team with friends, colleagues, or family members. Don’t worry if this is your first time—our Habitat team will provide tools, tips, and encouragement along the way. Participants will have until June 26 to reach their goal.
Once you hit your FUNdraising goal, you’ll be able to schedule your volunteer build day on the Women Build site in summer 2026, where you’ll work alongside other incredible women helping build safe, affordable homes in our community.
This year’s fundraising season will conclude with a special celebration at our Habitat Operations Center. Participants will pick up their exclusive Women Build Tool Kit—including a purple hard hat, sparkly hammer, Women Build T-shirt, and safety glasses—decorate their gear, and enjoy a fun evening together. We’ll also share a special surprise for this year’s partner family as we celebrate everything our community has accomplished together.
Together, we’re building more than homes—we’re building strength, stability, and hope.
