Women Build Tampa is a Habitat for Humanity initiative that focuses on the issues that women and women with children face in regards to gaining access to affordable housing. Each year women from all backgrounds come together to help a single mother in Hillsborough County realize her dream of homeownership. Around the world, and in our own community, women are more likely to live in substandard and poverty conditions. This is especially true of women who have children. Women Build empowers women volunteers to participate in an exciting experience, constructing a home for a local single mother.

What is Women Build Tampa?
Women Build is a powerful, female-led initiative rallying local women to make a life-changing impact—raising vital funds to build a safe, stable Habitat home for a single mother and her family. Every dollar raised helps bring them closer to homeownership, and participants who meet their fundraising goal also earn the unforgettable experience of working alongside our Tampa Habitat team to help build the home they made possible!
Beyond building a home, Women Build raises awareness of the critical need for affordable housing and how it creates strength, stability, and self-reliance for families through shelter. Together, we can make the dream of homeownership a reality!
How do I get involved?
Get ready to make a difference! Register using the button at the top of this page and join us at our April Kickoff to jumpstart your fundraising journey. Your individual goal is $600, but don’t worry—our team is here to help! Whether you go solo or team up with friends, we’ll provide tips and support along the way. Plus, you’ve got until June 26th to reach your goal.
Once you hit your FUNdraising goal, you’ll get to schedule a volunteer day on the Women Build site between August and October. Even better? You’ll receive your exclusive Women Build Tool Kit—featuring a purple hard hat, a sparkly hammer, a WB T-shirt, and safety glasses—so you can build in style.

The Women Build initiative brings together women from all walks of life, united in their mission to make a meaningful difference in our community. If you’ve been searching for a way to give back, but aren’t sure where to start, this is your opportunity. This marks our 9th annual Habitat Hillsborough Women Build, and our passionate community of women builders, supported by the hands-on Habitat Team, is here to guide you every step of the way—whether you’re fundraising for the first time or already experienced.
Making a lasting impact doesn’t have to be done alone. By joining a fundraising team or making a donation, you are directly helping local, hardworking families who need a hand up, not a handout.
