2024 Tournament Rules & Regulations
TOURNAMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME THROUGH THE COMPLETION OF THE CAPTAINS MEETING ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1st, 2021. ANGLERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR STAYING CURRENT ON ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS THROUGH THE COMPLETION OF THE TOURNAMENT ITSELF.
1. This is an Angler Tournament. All anglers must be paid and registered by the night of Captain’s meeting, Thursday, October 4th, 2024. No refund of entry fees.
2. Eligible Species: Redfish, Snook and Trout (catfish and other species, eligible for sub-categories)
3. Boundaries are open to all of Tampa Bay, North of the Skyway.
4. Lines in the water at 0800am. (Boats are permitted to bait fish, prior to 0800am.)
5. Lines out of water by 1300pm. (1:00pm). After party starts 1:30 – 1:45ish
6. All fishing and angling methods must comply with current Federal, State fishing Regulations.
7. If you are NOT on a USCG Captain’ed Boat, you WILL need your FL Fishing License.
8. All fish that are not in season will be photographed and safely released.
9. Fish must be caught by hook and line. Hand held rods and reels only.
10. Angler must hook, fight and bring fish into boat.
a. If you are on a guided boat, your Captain does not count as an angler of your team. He/She, should not be casting, reeling or doing anything but baiting your hook.
11. Eligible fish may be caught by boat or wading from boat.
12. All fish will be measured (by photo) using iAngler Tournament App.
a. One person on your team will be responsible for taking photos and submitted to the iAngler tournament app.
b. From the iAngler tournament app, you will also have access to the tournament leaderboards. This year you can see how you stack up a gainst the competition, while you’re still fishing.
13. Pictures must be taken with nose of fish flush against the ZERO on the
tournament provided DEKit RULER with pinched tail, in the photo.
a. Picture needs to include the entire fish and clearly show the overall length.
b. ALL NUMBERS ON THE RULER MUST BE VISIBLE. IF PICTURES OF THE FISH ARE NOT TAKEN PROPERLY, IT WILL NOT BE SCORED.
14. Slam length will be calculated as follows:
a. Largest Redfish + Largest Snook + Largest Trout = Your Teams Slam Length.
15. In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be your second largest redfish. If that doesn’t break the tie, tie breaker will be second largest snook. If that STILL doesn’t break the tie, tie breaker will be second largest trout. In the ridiculous chance that the tie is still not broken, tie break will be third largest redfish and so on…
16. Winners in the Slam Category will win the following prizes:
a. 1st Place: TBD
b. 2nd Place: TBD
c. 3rd Place: TBD
17. There is one additional sub categories for the tournament: Calcutta Division
a. Calcutta Division: Largest Catfish (Same Photo Rules as Slam Apply)
18. Tournament Winners Must Be Present at weigh in to Receive Winning award.
19. Live White Bait at the Gandy
a. If you are looking to buy white bait, where is a new bait guy hanging out buy the Gandy Boat Ramp. He will be there in the morning and will have plenty of white bait for $25 per Scoop.

21. The Honor System applies!!
a. Remember this is a Charity Event!
22. If there should be any dispute of any kind the decision of the Tournament Director will be final.
23. It is up to the discretion of the registered angler to determine whether his or her craft (if fishing from boat) is seaworthy for existing sea conditions. Participants are encouraged to keep abreast of any marine or weather warnings.
24. All decisions of the tournament committee and weigh master are final.
